Policies

1. Peer Review Policy

IJERE follows a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Each submitted manuscript is initially screened by the editorial office for scope, originality, and formatting compliance. Suitable manuscripts are then reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. The final decision (accept, revise, or reject) is based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial evaluation to ensure academic quality and integrity.

2. Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The journal strictly adheres to internationally recognized publication ethics standards. Authors must ensure that their submissions:

  • Are original and unpublished work.

  • Are not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Properly acknowledge all sources through accurate citation.

  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or redundant publication.

Any detected ethical misconduct may result in immediate rejection, retraction, or notification to the author’s institution.

3. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. IJERE allows a maximum similarity index (excluding references and quotations) as per journal guidelines (e.g., typically below 15–20%). Submissions exceeding the acceptable threshold may be returned for revision or rejected.

4. Open Access Policy

IJERE may operate under an open access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible online without subscription barriers. This enhances global visibility, readership, and citation impact. Authors may retain copyright under a Creative Commons license (if applicable).

5. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign a copyright agreement or licensing form. Depending on the journal model:

  • Authors may transfer copyright to the publisher, or

  • Publish under a Creative Commons license (e.g., CC BY).

Proper attribution must be given in any subsequent reuse.

6. Author Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Clearly define individual contributions (if multiple authors).

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest.

  • Provide accurate data and methodology details.

  • Be prepared to provide raw data if requested for verification.

7. Conflict of Interest Policy

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the review or publication process. Transparency ensures fairness and academic credibility.

8. Retraction and Correction Policy

If significant errors or ethical violations are identified after publication:

  • Corrections or errata will be issued when appropriate.

  • Retractions will be published in cases of major misconduct or invalid findings.
All retraction notices will remain publicly accessible.

9. Archiving and Indexing Policy

The journal ensures long-term digital preservation of published articles through secure archiving systems. Efforts are made to include the journal in reputable academic indexing databases to enhance discoverability and citation impact.

10. Publication Frequency

IJERE is published quarterly. Special issues may be announced on emerging themes in engineering research and education.
